Student Evaluation

We believe every child learns in their own time, and our role is to meet them where they are and guide them forward with intention and care. We offer a personalized evaluation model that celebrates progress, not perfection.

Our Evaluation Framework

We assess each child across six essential areas of development:

  1. Literacy & Language
letter recognition, phonemic awareness, sight words, journaling, storytelling

  2. Numeracy & Thinking Skills
counting, patterning, sorting, problem solving, early math concepts

  3. Social-Emotional Development
turn-taking, emotional expression, conflict resolution, mindfulness

  4. Independence & Practical Life
self-care routines, managing belongings, preparing materials, responsibility

  5. Communication & Expression
speaking clearly, participating in discussions, sequencing ideas

  6. Creativity & Curiosity
art, music, imaginative play, inquiry-based learning

Our Learning Environment

At Little Luminaries, the environment is a core part of how children learn and grow.

Indoors, our space is calm and carefully prepared with Montessori-inspired materials, soft lighting, and cozy corners that encourage focus, independence, and creativity.

Every area is designed to support self-directed learning and meaningful exploration.

Outdoors, children spend time in nature daily — whether it's a mindful walk, a scavenger hunt, sensory play, or group movement. These outdoor experiences help children connect with the world around them while building confidence, coordination, and joy in movement.

With only five children, the environment stays peaceful and personalized — a space where every child feels safe, supported, and ready to thrive.
